On July 26th 2023, the auction for this Beautifully restored, brewster green E-type Coupe concluded.
The initial project seamed unatainable due to the corrosion in every panel. But with the aplication of of patience and will each component piece was made to measure, rolling, bending, forming and welding were carried out with meticoulous precision in order to ensure door gaps, roof fit ect.
Once the metal work was completed and we had arrived at an exact body shell, the process of preperation for painting began, again each panel was smoothed, filled and treated with rust inhibitor. epoxy primer and etch primer were used across the entire shell internally and externally.
The preperation for the final colour was imensly extensive, far better than the original one coat used by Jaguar in the sixties. Six layers of build up primer and as little body filler as possible were used to make the tub straight and ready for colour. Once ready 4 coats of colour and four coats of laquer applied over a course of two months gives an imensly deep shine, durable and built to last.
The mechanical elemants to our rebuild are handled with both precision and ascetic value, in that whilst they must accomplish a certian task and function they must also be be pleasing to the eye. To achieve this an extensive cleaning process is employed for every nut, bolt and component. Shotblasting, coatings and paint are liberaly used in almost an artistic procedure that makes each component part of a finished unit.
Great care is used to tune and adjust all the mechanical components and we very often we will augment and tastefully modernize the components for ease of use.
This peice of automotive art was started in 2018 and was finnished in 2022 and after 4 long years of hard work, this was the culmination of all of our efforts.
